I learned how to do a blindhem stitch on the machine, using this tutorial on youtube. It may take a few more attempts to perfect this skill, but it wasn't hard once the light went off about how the fabric was to be folded.
Here is a close-up of the fabric, which I adore, though it tends to hold a wrinkle:
I am so obessed with sheath dresses for work. Seriously, they could be the only thing I sew.
Are you tired of this pattern yet? I don't have any immediate versions planned, though I'm sure I will sew a few more of these in the future.

Sheath dresses ARE amazing! Yours came out so nice!
Very nice. You look great. (I can't remember the last time I only used 1 1/4 yards to make anything for myself, lol!)
Wow awesome job. It fits brilliantly. You can't go wrong with a sheath dress.
You look great in your sheath dress! I love sheaths too! Your fabric looks very designer! And I'm not tired of this pattern at all!
What a great silk you found. I can see this totally dressed up, with a pretty shawl or down, with a black denim jacket. And looks stunning just as it is! You have achieved a fabulous fit with this pattern! I wouldn't get tired of it either, so many possibilities.
Great dress! Nothing wrong with using a pattern that's been perfected over and over again. :) I adore the shoes that you're wearing with it, too!
That is a gorgeous sheath dress. The joy of sewing your own clothes is sewing as many of the same garment as you like.
Beautiful dress - the fabric makes it look very expensive!
GORGEOUS! I love that fabric!
It's beautiful and that silk is luscious! It's brilliant for office wear, and to think that you could change the shoes and jewels and wear it right into the evening too. Gorgeous and at under $20 how could you possibly go wrong!
You look fabulous and I don't think anyone could have too many sheath dresses. I love that pattern on your fabric. I'm getting ready to make my 1st sheath dress myself.
This is fabulous! I would never get tired of this pattern :) Great fabric and fit, what more could you ask for?
Great dress, and no, I'll never get bored of a sheath dress pattern!
I love the fabric, great dress
Great sheath dress and the fabric is gorgeous - just right for summer. It looks perfect with those shoes and belt! You should definitely make more of these - the style really suits you.
So cute on you! Love TNT patterns.
Love that fabric!!!This dress is gorgeous. The sheath never goes out of style!! Great Job!!
That is a great fabric choice! Awesome job!
That is the perfect dress for you! And the perfect showcase for that fantastic fabric.
totally not tired of this pattern yet. It allows you to use such a great variety of fabrics. the fit is spot on! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Great dress - love the fabric! It took me a while to figure out exactly how to fold the fabric for the blindhem stitch also. Once I figured it out, I fell in love!
Love it! Not tired of this pattern or sheath dresses at all. In fact, I really need to get over my intimidation of woven fabric sheath dresses and try one for myself already. Jeez!
Your dress looks fantastic! I'm in love with that buttery yellow/ivory colour scheme. Divine...
Lovely dress!
It's an amazing dress. You look beautiful in it, very nice job!
I LOVE a bargain project! You look gorgeous in it!
Nice nice nice NICE!
I haven't quite made friends with sheath-dresses for me yet, I think partly because I have a more girly than womanly figure (looks shapeless in a sheath) and partly because a bicycle is my transportation method of choice.
But they do look great on others!
That's a really cool dress, I love the fabric too. Awesome blog!
Great dress. It's nice to have a gorgeous dress for under $20.00.
Gorgeous dress. Love the fabric and the style is wonderful. Would look great with a jacket over it.
How did I miss the post about this very kewl sheath dress?! I'm telling you I'm working too hard! *LOL* But seriously couldn't you just make about 20 of these in all colors and prints so that all you had to do was roll out of the bed in the morning, put one on...maybe grab a cardi and be done with it!
I say you should make all 20! :)
I love the pattern of the fabric, it goes perfect with the dress design.
Well done lady!
